「困った木」で作る 時木の積層

取得したのは、福岡県にある保育園の園庭にあるサクラの木。もともと現園長のお子さんが入ることができる保育園がなかったため、自ら立ち上げたというこの保育園。子どもたちにとってシンボルツリーであるサクラは実は園舎に隣接する公園に生えていた木。少子化や待機児童、統廃合など、さまざまな課題がとりまく保育園の現状。その中で一心発起し、子どもたちにとってよりよい環境を考え、園舎内には植えられなくとも「木」の存在を大切に想い実践した園長の優しさが溢れています。

Tree that have Seen Children Through

We acquired a cherry tree from the garden of a daycare center in Fukuoka Prefecture. The daycare was founded by the current director, who, seeing the lack of local facilities that could accommodate their own child, decided to create one. The cherry tree, which served as a symbolic tree for the children, actually grew in a nearby park adjacent to the daycare building. In the face of challenges like declining birth rates, the shortage of available daycare spots, and the merging of facilities, the director took it upon themselves to create a better environment for the children. Even though the tree could not be planted within the building itself, the director’s kindness and dedication to the importance of trees in the children’s lives is truly heartwarming.
